The Salmon that stay in the river all winter in the deep pools under 2-3 ft. of ice, after spawning late in fall, work their way back to sea after the ice is out in early April. These salmon are fished using streamer flies that represent the small fish they feed on in early Spring.

At this time of year, most of the spring salmon have already returned to the sea, and the new run of Atlantic Silver Salmon are returning - continuing coming up the river until late fall. June & July are normally the best summer months to fish for salmon and trout. It is fly fishing only using small flies - we recommend hook sizes 10 - 6, representing the varied hatches of flies they feed on after hatching into Parr or baby salmon.
