Not much more can be said about New Brunswick Black Bear that has not been said before! They are plentiful - and BIG - it is not uncommon to get one 400-500 lbs.! Hunting Black bears at Sunset Shan-Gri-La Lodge is one of the most exciting things that could ever happen to you! Our Lodge is ideally situated with 25 bear baits in Deep Virgin Forest, only 20 -30 minutes from the Lodge. Now this is a nice Buck!
New Brunswick is well known for it's ability to provide a bountiful harvest of the White Tail Deer! In our immediate area, we have an excellent herd of White Tail Deer. Bucks with 8-16 pts weigh 200-300 lbs. The record for New Brunswick is 308 lbs. (The largest Whitetail shot at Shan-Gri-La was 302 Lbs.) Hunting is done with Rifle, Bow, or Muzzle Loader. There is a special "bow only" season for Bow Hunters!

We also have an excellent herd of Moose for those lucky in the "Moose Lottery"! If you do draw a Moose license, give us a call!

Woodcock, Grouse & Duck..

Grouse and Woodcock, Upland Hunters delight!
New Brunswick is located directly in the path of the annual Woodcock migration! Our Lodge is located in the middle of New Brunswick! For Woodcock hunters, this is paradise! There is also excellent hunting for the speedy Grouse and an ample supply of waterfowl. Duck hunters will find Teal, Black Duck, Wood Duck, Golden-Eyes, Ringnecks, Scaup and other species against which to test their hunting skills. We don't provide dogs but if you bring one, we do have a kennel.
